I began my studies at Trinity Theological Seminary without much expectation of actually completing the degree. I enjoyed the program.

However; after five years I completed my Ph.D., Magna Cum Laude. 

My dissertation proposal was enthusiastically rejected twice, my  outline was rejected twice, chapter one was rejected twice and not to be outdone, my rough draft was rejected three consecutive times.

Once the dissertation was finally completed I defended my work before three faculty members that had each earned their own doctorate degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary, Columbia Pacific University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary .

The verbal exchange and discussion during the defense slowly moved from the three questioning my work to the three discussing between themselves my conclusions. At one point, a member directed a remark to me that I will not soon forget. He said "As you can see, we are struggling more with how we are to best apply your conclusions than we are concerned any longer with a critical evaluation".

I will always be grateful to Sarah for supporting me through the years of study as well as to Palmcroft Church who contributed to my earning the degree and celebrated with me the final completion.
